A family-run open farm near Gorey, welcoming visitors since 1991 with hands-on animal handling, pedal go-karts, mini diggers and a real fire engine ride. The name "Kia Ora" is Māori for hello — chosen after the founders' trip to New Zealand.
The farmyard stock (cows, sheep, pigs) is joined by exotics such as llamas, alpacas, emus, pot-bellied pigs, chinchillas, parrots and Scottish Highland cattle. Staff welcome visitors to the shed and hand out small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs; feeding of the larger animals and bottle-feeding happen at announced times, depending on the season.
One of the farm's most popular attractions: an authentic fire engine takes families on a spin down through the newly planted forest, with singalong tunes and sirens. It is described as wheelchair-friendly.
Karts run on a gravel track with plenty of space, and the mix of kart types includes family karts so parents can race too. Aimed squarely at teenagers and older children.
Real mini diggers in a purpose-built sand pit let kids (and adults) scoop, lift and dig. A huge family favourite.
