About

A free 13-acre municipal park just north of Gorey town centre with playgrounds, a skate park, sensory garden, outdoor gym and a café, open around the clock.

Things to Do

Playgrounds and splash fountain

Two play areas with wooden climbing frames and swings (KOMPAN Robinia range, for ages 2 and up) plus a splash fountain, an amphitheatre used by children's entertainers, and wetpour safety surfacing throughout.

Skate park, table tennis and boules

The park keeps one of Ireland's first municipal skate parks and adds two stone outdoor table tennis tables, plus boules and skittles courts and a full-size playing pitch.

Sensory garden and pocket forest

A sensory garden built by Gorey Tidy Towns sits alongside a wildflower/biodiversity garden, a Garden of Remembrance and a Miyawaki mini-forest of 1,000 native trees planted in 2023.

Outdoor gym and running loops

A fitness zone with cardio and strength equipment, and smooth tarmac paths looping the park that are flat enough for all abilities — the same route used by the weekly 5k.

Gorey parkrun

A free, volunteer-run 5k every Saturday at 9:30am — three and a half laps on tarmac, starting at the Fort Road car park and finishing between the playground and sports pavilion. Register once online, then just turn up; most runners finish with coffee at The Coffee Pod.

Dog walking

Dogs are welcome throughout the park, and there is an enclosed dog exercise area beside the campervan bays where they can run off-lead.
