About

A miniature make-believe town of 14 themed role-play zones on the top floor of a Ballincollig shopping centre — designed for children to lead the play while grown-ups relax over proper coffee and cake.

Things to Do

The miniature village

Fourteen play areas are scaled down to child size and filled with props, toys and costumes for child-led, open-ended play. It is a calmer, less overstimulating alternative to a soft play centre, aimed mainly at children up to six.

Emergency services

Grab a helmet and race the fire engine to a blaze, lock up rogues in the Garda station (there is an escape tunnel), or take on the roles of doctor, nurse, paramedic, optician or dentist in the hospital.

Shops and food

Run the 'big shop' at the Siopa, serving customers at the till, cook up pizza and pasta in the pizzeria, or let the child-sized café baristas make a babychino and serve afternoon tea.

Theatre, school and salon

Performers, princesses and superheroes take the stage in the theatre, while the beauty salon has hairdressing, barbering, nail and make-up stations, and the school rings its bell for class.

Roadway and mechanics

Children take to the road in a variety of vehicles, watching the traffic lights, or pull into the garage to change tyres and fill up at the pumps.

Baby area

The littlest visitors relax in the village green with sensory and tactile toys. Non-walkers are free with a paying child.

Café for grown-ups

A cosy café serves Three Fools coffee, O'Conaill hot chocolate, snacks, pastries and cakes from local bakers. Shoes come off at the entrance and socks must be worn; no food or drink goes into the village.
