About

Awesome Walls Cork is the city's biggest indoor climbing centre, with bouldering, roped lines, a training gym, café and hangout zones all under one roof at the Model Arena on Model Farm Road.

Things to Do

Bouldering and the MINT league

Low walls, hundreds of grips and problems that get reset often keep bouldering fresh for regulars. A friendly in-house league, Mint Conditions, runs in four fortnightly rounds with scoring by number of attempts and a random prize draw rather than winners' prizes.

Special events

The centre runs one-off events such as the fancy-dress UV Climbing Night, when the walls glow under ultraviolet light. Check the news page before your visit.

Special events

Roped climbing

Taller roped lines, including a much-liked arch, suit anyone wanting height and endurance. Experienced visitors take a quick belay test at reception before using the roped area.

Taster sessions and inductions

Never climbed before? A pre-booked 60-minute taster includes an instructor, safety briefing, harness hire and all the ropework done for you. If you want to climb independently, the Bouldering Induction covers a facility tour, instruction, admission and shoe rental for the day.

Kids' camps, Kids Club and NICAS

School-holiday camps for ages 6-17 are fully supervised and need no experience or equipment. Weekly Kids Club sessions and the NICAS syllabus give young climbers a route to progress.

Groups, parties and team days

Junior and adult groups are catered for at any level and size, from birthday parties and school trips to corporate team-building. Groups must book in advance.

Training hub, café and hangouts

An upstairs training space, an on-site café and shop, and hangout zones for resting between climbs. All climbing equipment can be hired if you travel light.
