Frederic William Burton's beloved watercolour is so fragile it's displayed only twice a week: Thursdays 11.30am–12.30pm and Sundays 2pm–3pm in Room 20. Time your visit if you want to catch this jewel of Irish art.
Current shows include Rembrandt to Matisse — a celebration of European works on paper, and Visual Poetry: The Photography of John Minihan. Many temporary exhibitions are free; a few carry an admission charge.

Drop into the Atrium Creative Space — open year-round with free drawing materials. Family Packs and Drawing & Creative Writing Kits can be borrowed from the information desks at no charge.
The Gallery Shop stocks art-inspired gifts, prints, and books. The café, overlooked by a bronze statue of George Bernard Shaw, serves coffee, light lunches and pastries in the light-filled Millennium Wing.
