Caravaggio and the Old Masters

The star attraction is Caravaggio's dramatic The Taking of Christ in Room 25. Nearby hang Vermeer's Woman Writing a Letter, with her Maid and Velázquez's Kitchen Maid with the Supper at Emmaus.

The Grand Gallery

Room 44, the Grand Gallery, displays Monet, Picasso, Turner and Goya, with each work linked back to Ireland.

The Meeting on the Turret Stairs

Frederic William Burton's celebrated watercolour is shown for just two hours a week: Thursdays 11.30am-12.30pm and Sundays 2-3pm in Room 20.

Gallery Café

The Gallery Café sits on Level 0 of the Millennium Wing, by the Clare Street entrance, and opens seven days a week.

Gallery Shop

The shop in the Millennium Wing sells prints, books and Irish craft and design, and closes 15 minutes before the Gallery.

Admission: Free entry to the permanent collection; some temporary exhibitions charge.
Parking: Metered on-street parking on Merrion Square; disabled parking spaces outside the Merrion Square entrance. There are also Dublinbikes stations at Clare Street and Merrion Square West.
