A fully digital, interactive museum in Dublin's Docklands telling the story of 10 million Irish emigrants and their extraordinary global impact — voted Europe's Leading Tourist Attraction three years in a row.
Swipe through video galleries, dance through motion-sensor quizzes, listen to remastered audio from 100 years ago, and stamp your souvenir passport as you go. The galleries span Migration, Motivation, Influence, and the Diaspora Today — culminating in The Vault, a stunning room showcasing famous faces of Irish ancestry from Barack Obama to Grace Kelly. Allow at least 90 minutes.
Located as you exit the museum, the IFHC offers one-to-one genealogy consultations (from €138) and commissioned research packages where expert genealogists do the digging for you. Also available: a €50 citizenship enquiry service to check eligibility for an Irish passport.
A one-hour guided tour at 1pm daily, led by expert storytellers who delve deeper into the stories behind the Irish diaspora. Currently English only. Adults €25, children €11.
Running 1 July – 31 December 2026, this multimedia exhibition explores Ireland's relationship with the EU as Ireland assumes the EU presidency. Entry is included with general admission.
