About

Hands-on falconry on the Dingle Peninsula: hold and fly over 20 birds of prey — hawks, owls, falcons and a golden eagle — in one-hour sessions just 5 minutes from Dingle town.

Things to Do

Public Falconry Experience

A one-hour group session (max 25 people) running daily mid-March to mid-October by booking. You meet, hold and fly a range of birds — barn and eagle owls, falcons, Harris hawks — with photo opportunities throughout.

Private Falconry Experience

A one-hour session exclusive to your party, with private use of the falconry garden and personal falconer guidance. Subject to season and the bird's mood, you may meet Orla the golden eagle. Bookable year-round in advance.

Hawk Walk

A private 60-minute walk (1–5 people) along a wetland lake with a free-flying Harris Hawk that soars, perches and returns to your gloved hand. Entry to view the other birds is included; suitable for children aged five and up.

Meet the birds

Over 20 resident birds of prey with distinct personalities, including peregrine and saker falcons, barn, snowy and eagle owls, several Harris hawks, and Orla the golden eagle — Ireland's largest bird of prey.

Falconry heritage and conservation

Falconry is recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the team also rescues and rehabilitates injured raptors. Every session includes an educational element on bird behaviour and conservation.

Photography

Photography is encouraged at every experience, and falconers will help you capture birds landing on your glove. Bring a charged camera or phone — slow-motion video of the hawk walk is a highlight.

Plan Your Visit

  • Hours: Public Falconry Experience: March–October, daily by booking only. Private Experiences and Hawk Walks: year-round by appointment (advance booking essential). All sessions weather-dependent — strong wind or heavy rain may mean rescheduling.
  • Parking: Large on-site car park with multiple spaces, free. Site is on the N86 road about 5 km (5–10 min drive) east of Dingle town; local taxis available.
  • Food: No food on site — Dingle town, a short drive away, has plenty of cafés, pubs and restaurants.
