A traditional working mountain farm on the Wild Atlantic Way where highly trained border collies, hand sheep-shearing and bottle-fed lambs come with a front-row view over Killary Fjord.
The heart of every tour: the farm's border collies (Sweep, Lassie and Fly) round up about 200 ewes and lambs across the mountain pasture at the farmer's quiet commands, penning them before your eyes. Shows run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm daily.
Get hands-on feeding orphaned lambs from March 17 to August 15 — a favourite for children and adults alike. Spring visits mean newborn lambs in the pens.
From June 1 to August 15 watch the flock shorn the traditional way, by hand shears rather than machine — a rare sight on modern Irish farms.
The farm sits 6km from Leenane on the N59, overlooking the fjord with views across the Connemara landscape — postcard material in any weather.
Tours include a demonstration of traditional turf (peat) cutting with a slean spade, plus a walk up the hill on farm trails to the best viewpoints over Killary Fjord and the Maumturk mountains.
