Coffee and crepes at the top
Bell's Coffee & Crepes sits at 3 Old Youghal Road, right beside the field, serving Soma coffee and sweet and savoury crepes with the same view. Open daily 10:30-17:00, with takeaway available.
Picnic on the grass
The large grassy slope invites picnics and lounging, with room to spread out away from the crowds. It is a popular, peaceful spot for couples, families and students when the weather is good.
Walk or run the climb
Getting there is the workout: a steep climb up Patrick's Hill from the city centre. To avoid the steepest stretch, approach via the Old Youghal Road/Heineken brewery side instead.
Walk the dog
Dogs are welcome, and the open grassy space gives them room to run while you enjoy the outlook. It is also a good place to bring children for an easy, outdoor afternoon.
