Explore two floors tracing Ireland's butter story: the central role of dairy in early Christian Ireland, the rise of the Cork Butter Exchange (the world's largest in the 19th century), and the modern success of Kerrygold. Videos, audio stations, and a children's activity sheet keep all ages engaged.
Watch traditional butter churning come to life, then taste the freshly made butter on bread. Demonstrations run Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12:00 noon and last 30–40 minutes. Seating is limited to 35 — arrive by 11:00 to secure a spot. Even if the seats fill, free samples follow.
Browse a vast catalogue of vintage butter wrappers from over 150 Irish creameries. Before Kerrygold unified the market, each local creamery had its own distinctive brand and packaging — a colourful slice of design and agricultural history.
