A modern community leisure centre on Youghal's Claycastle seafront, combining a 25-metre pool, kids' pools and a full health suite with a well-equipped gym and fitness studio. It is the town's main indoor swimming and workout spot, open to pay-as-you-go visitors as well as members.
The centrepiece is a 25-metre pool running open swim sessions with lanes available for different speeds. A Saturday example runs Open Swim 14:00-18:00 and an adult-only swim 18:00-18:45, so it is worth checking the online timetable before you travel.
Alongside the main pool there is a learner pool and a kiddies pool, plus family swim sessions that are fun whatever the weather. Children under 8 must be accompanied at all times by an adult, 8-11s must be supervised, and the ratio is one adult to three children.
The Aura Swim Academy offers baby and tots lessons, children's lessons, adult lessons and Rookie Lifeguard, taught in the 25-metre pool.
The gym has a spacious weightlifting area plus cardio machines, stationary bikes and treadmills, with personal trainers on hand. Group classes range from spin and aqua aerobics to core, boxercise and HIIT. Under-18s need written parental consent before using the gym.
Round off a swim or workout with the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. These are for over-18s only.
