Things to Do
Step into the Heritage Experience
Airfield House is an interactive tour of the Overend family home, with original photographs, clothing, toys and the vintage car garage housing Letitia's 1927 Rolls Royce. Free audio guides are available in five languages, or join a guided tour at 12pm and 2pm.
Get Hands-On at World of Soil
An indoor interactive exhibition on the world beneath our feet, with hands-on, deliberately messy activities for children. Entry is included with all tickets; bring old clothes or an apron.
Shop the Farmers Market
Every Friday and Saturday from 9am to 2:30pm with free entry. Stallholders sell local fruit and veg, lamb, bread, cheese, preserves, sustainable Irish fish on Fridays, and flowers grown on the estate.
Meet the Farm Animals
A genuine working farm with a milking Jersey herd, Jacob sheep, Oxford Sandy and Black pigs, Saneen goats, Rhode Island Red hens and two fostered donkeys, Conal and Carroll, from the Donkey Sanctuary. Animals move around the farmyard regularly, so what you see changes each visit.
Join the Daily Guided Activities
All daily activities are free with admission: Egg Talk at the hen coop at 10am, Jersey herd milking at 10:30am (milk tasting at weekends only), Overends House tours at 12pm and 2pm, Storytime at 1:30pm, and a Farm Talk or Meet the Donkeys at 3pm.
Eat at Overends Kitchen
The estate restaurant serves a changing menu built around the weekly farm and garden harvest, with McCabe's coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch. It is walk-in; bookings can be made online for parties of 12 or fewer.
Grab a Bite at the Stables Café
Sited inside the admission area and open Saturdays and Sundays, the Stables Café serves handmade toasties, pastries, cakes, artisan products and drinks to go.
Plan Your Visit
- Hours: Open Tuesday to Sunday and bank holidays; closed Mondays, but open 7 days a week in July & August. March-May and September & October 9:30am-5:30pm, June 9:30am-6:30pm, July & August 9:30am-7:30pm, November-February 9:30am-4:30pm. Last entry one hour before closing. Airfield House may close from noon on wedding days.
- Admission: Adults €15, children (3-17) €8
- Parking: Limited car parking on a first-come, first-served basis, plus plenty of bike parking. Wheelchair-accessible parking is available on site.
- Food: Overends Kitchen is the farm-to-table restaurant serving breakfast, brunch and lunch, with a farm shop and coffee and food to go (walk-in; kitchen closes 3pm Monday-Friday, 3:30pm weekends). The Stables Café, inside the admission area, serves toasties, pastries and drinks and is open weekends in season. The farmers market runs Fridays and Saturdays, 9am-2:30pm.
