A startlingly rectangular tidal pool carved by nature into the limestone cliffs of Inishmore — famous for hosting the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series and steeped in serpent folklore.
Follow faded red arrow markers across the limestone pavement to reach the cliff-edge viewpoint. From here you get the classic aerial perspective of the near-perfect rectangle filling and emptying with the tide. Stay well back from the unfenced cliff edge.
An adventurous ~1.6 km coastal walk from the prehistoric fort to the Wormhole, following painted rock markings. Takes 20–30 minutes each way over jagged, uneven limestone. You'll need to climb over stone walls — proper hiking footwear is essential.
Rent a bike at Kilronan Pier and cycle ~5 km (20 minutes) to the hamlet of Gort na gCapall via the scenic Low Road or the smoother High Road. Leave your bike at the gate and walk the final 15–20 minutes across open limestone slabs to the pool. Look for red arrows on the rocks to guide you.
