About

A family-run Wicklow alpaca farm where visitors walk their own alpaca on guided treks, feed the herd in a paddock and browse an all-alpaca gift shop, about 40 minutes from Dublin city centre.

Things to Do

Alpaca & Prosecco Trek

The signature 2-hour experience: a handling talk, then you're paired with your own alpaca for a roughly 1.25-hour walk at alpaca pace through Wicklow countryside, with hand-feeding and photo stops, finishing with prosecco or juice in the shop. From €40 per person; ages 8 and up (8-9 year olds walk with a paying adult and cannot lead). Closed-toe sturdy shoes required. Book ahead — treks need a minimum number to run and are weather-dependent.

Kids Alpaca Experience

A 45-minute meet-and-greet for families: 30 minutes in the paddock with alpacas and picnic tables, feeding them specialist alpaca feed and taking photos, then 15 minutes in the gift shop. Adults €15, children 2-17 €7.50, under-2s free. No trek involved, and it suits young children and visitors with mobility issues. In summer it runs Wednesday-Sunday at 12:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30.

Kids Alpaca Experience

Enchanted Fairy Forest walk

A child-friendly woodland walk on the farm (part of the Kids Experience and the Halloween pumpkin patch) that also features in the summer events. A gentle add-on for little ones between alpaca time and the gift shop.

Farm Gift Shop

An all-alpaca shop stocking handcrafted items made in Peru (soft teddies, slippers, scarves, socks and yarn) plus farm-grown fibre products milled in the UK. Treks and kids' visits end here, and alpaca feed can be bought for €3.

Plan Your Visit

  • Hours: All visits run on pre-booked experience slots. The farm is generally open Wed, Sat and Sun afternoons; in summer the Kids Alpaca Experience runs Wednesday-Sunday at 12:30, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30. Treks and events run on set dates — book in advance.
  • Admission: Trek from €40; Kids Experience adults €15, children 2-17 €7.50, under-2s free
  • Parking: Free on-site car park. Open the farm gate, close it securely behind you, and follow signs to the car park. SatNav (Eircode A63 DX08) can send you on unsafe roads — follow the detailed directions on the website instead.
  • Food: No restaurant on site: the trek finishes with prosecco or juice refreshments and the pumpkin patch sells tea, coffee, hot chocolate and treats. Shops and pubs are in Newtownmountkennedy village, about 4.5 km away.
