A 13th-century Norman fortress on the banks of the River Maigue. Guided tours run daily from June to September, departing by shuttle bus from the Heritage Centre. The castle features an ancient ring-fort, multiple moats, and thick defensive walls. Tickets available at the Heritage Centre reception or online via PayPal. The picturesque thatched gazebo is a favourite backdrop for wedding photos and village events. Don't miss The Washing Pool, another charming feature of this former Dunraven estate land.
