Ireland's first purpose-built racecourse in over 50 years, offering Flat and National Hunt racing on a modern right-handed oval track just south of Limerick city, with racing heritage stretching back to 1790.
Around 18 fixtures run through the year, mixing National Hunt and Flat racing. Afternoon and summer twilight evening meetings are the norm — evening fixtures include live music after the last race. Check the fixtures page on the official website for upcoming dates and buy tickets online in advance.
The four-day festival (26–29 December) is the highlight of the calendar. Day 3 features the Grade 1 Faugheen Novice Chase, the track's premier race. Day 4 is Family Fun Day with children's amusements and entertainers. The Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle and Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase run earlier in the festival.
Held in October, this two-day meeting is headlined by the JT McNamara Ladbrokes Munster National Handicap Steeplechase (Grade A), a fiercely contested 3-mile chase with a €100,000 purse that draws large crowds.
The Greenmount Suite restaurant overlooks the home straight with private balcony access. The hospitality package includes admission, racecard, reserved seating, and a three-course meal. Tote betting facilities are brought directly to your table. Prices vary by fixture — book in advance.
Tote betting and Ladbrokes betting shops are available on each floor of the main stand, with staff on hand to help newcomers. The Munster Suite, Tote Hall, and Owners & Trainers Bar offer a range of hot meals, bar food, and drinks throughout race days.
The racecourse doubles as an events venue. Look out for the Hibernian Vintage Antiques Fair (September, admission €5), the Adrenaline Stunt Circus, and the Limerick Show. The venue is also available for conferences, weddings, and private hire year-round.
