Summer Exhibitions
Our, Óir, Ore: Four Millennia of Limerick Silver and Gold runs 23 April to 20 September 2026, alongside OUR: Conversations with the Collection. General admission covers both.
Museum in a Garden
Super-sized 3D-printed replicas of collection objects, including Olmec Man and an Etruscan jug, stand in the riverside garden, which also has a sensory planting area and games to borrow. Access is restricted: gates are locked at 6pm and reopen at 8am daily.
The Hunt Café
Breakfast, lunch and coffee on the ground floor, with views over the River Shannon and the Curraghgower Falls. Open to museum visitors and passers-by alike.
Family Trails
Self-guided trails such as Around the Table in 19 Objects and two Medieval Treasure Hunts keep children busy, and discovery drawers in several rooms reveal more of the collection.
Guided Group Tours
Docent-led tours last about an hour and cover 10,000 years of Irish and world history. Group rates are available for pre-booked tour groups, travel agents and coach operators.

- Hours: Monday: closed. Tuesday to Saturday: 10am–5pm. Sunday: 11am–5pm. Average visit 45 minutes to 1 hour. The Hunt Café opens earlier on weekdays (Tue–Sat 9am; Sun 11am) and is also closed Mondays.
- Admission: Adults €12.50; concessions €10; under-16s free
- Parking: No general on-site parking. Two disability parking spaces are at the rear — call 061 312833 to check availability. Nearby public car parks include Arthur's Quay Shopping Centre car park (has disabled spaces) and The Potato Market Car Park, which links to the museum garden by a white footbridge. Additional parking is a 4-minute walk away, and there are on-site bike racks.
- Food: The Hunt Café on the ground floor serves breakfast, lunch and coffee, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the River Shannon.
