The replica Viking house and friary ruins
The adventure takes place in a handcrafted replica Viking house, built using ancient house-building techniques, standing amid the ruins of Bailey's New Street's 13th-century Franciscan friary.
Children's Viking Tour
A family tour at The Viking House every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm: about 40 minutes of battles, sea voyages and kings, with a toy sword for each child and a 40-foot replica longboat. €9.50 per person, family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) €35, under-5s free.
The wider Viking Triangle
Five Waterford Treasures museums sit within five minutes' walk of each other. Note that the VR experience moves to the Medieval Museum from January to mid-March.

- Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday/Bank Holiday 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. In June to August, 10:30 am - 5:30 pm daily. Closed Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day.
- Admission: Adults, seniors and students €10; children €5, with 15% off when booked online.
- Parking: Nearest public car park is Bolton Street Public Car Park, less than 3 minutes' walk away. On-street pay-by-meter parking on the Quays, The Mall, Parnell Street and at City Square Shopping Centre. Blue badge spaces on Greyfriars Street and The Mall; free coach parking at Bolton Street.
- Food: There is no cafe at the King of the Vikings. The Bishop's Palace Cafe, a few minutes' walk away in the Bishop's Palace Museum, serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and cakes (high season 10am-4pm daily). Waterford's pubs, cafes and restaurants are all within walking distance.
