About
A working craft brewery taproom in the middle of Kilkenny city, where 300-plus years of family brewing history is poured alongside stone-baked pizza and live music. Revived in 2016 from a recipe book going back to 1702, it is also home to the Maltings Irish Red Ale, once named Best Draught Ale in the World.
Things to Do
Drink through the core range
Maltings Red Ale, Irish Gold and Black Marble Stout are on draught at €6 a pint, with a tasting tray of all three for €9.50 and rotating guest taps on the specials boards.
Pizza, burgers and wings
Order at the bar or by QR: stone-baked pizzas from €13.50, burgers €16–18, wings and cauliflower wings €10, plus a children's menu and vegan, vegetarian and gluten-friendly options.
Beer garden and heated pods
A covered, heated outdoor space with big screens that opens into a sun trap in summer. Dog-friendly and good for families during the day and early evening.
Live music and big-screen sport
Live music at least three nights a week, plus Premier League, Champions League, URC and GAA coverage across 12 screens.
Groups, parties and the Secret Garden
Groups of up to 20 can book online; larger celebrations can hire private sections or the Secret Garden for up to 120 guests with live music on request. Function menus need a minimum of 18 guests.

- Hours: Mon & Tue 4pm–close; Wed–Sun 12pm–close. Kitchen serves until 9pm daily, kids' menu until 8pm. Hours are published separately for November–March and April–October (currently the same times).
- Admission: Taproom entry is free; the Signature Brewery Experience is €16.50 per person (18+).
- Parking: Free car park, paid car park and free street parking are available nearby according to the venue's Google listing; the Taproom's own website gives no parking detail.
- Food: On-site kitchen serving seven days a week: hand-stretched pizzas from €13.50, burgers €16–18, wings €10, salads €14, dirty fries €8.50, desserts €7. Drinks include core beers at €6 a pint, a €9.50 tasting tray, cocktails €12–13 and wine from €7.50 a glass. Click & Collect takeaway available. Group function menu (minimum 18 guests) covers pizza, wings, goujons, garlic bread and house fries.
