A free roadside pull-in on the Ring of Kerry where the whole of Dingle Bay, from Rossbeigh to the Dingle Peninsula, opens up in front of you.
Things to Do
Beaches and headlands
Look right and the view takes in Rossbeigh Beach and Inch Beach, with Dingle Bay stretching ahead towards the Dingle Peninsula. Clear days give the best light.
Old railway heritage
Turn away from the sea and the hills hide the old Great Southern and Western Railway line from Killorglin to Valentia, opened in 1893 and closed in 1960. Several tunnels and the Gleensk viaduct survive nearby.
Walk the Kerry Way to Kells
A signposted 9 km, roughly 3-hour point-to-point section of the Kerry Way starts here, climbing the side of Drung Hill and dropping through Coomshanna Forest to Kells. It follows an old stagecoach and butter road. Good shoes, water and a snack advised.
A quick stop on the Ring of Kerry
The viewpoint sits on the N70 about 8 km west of Glenbeigh, an easy free break for anyone driving the Iveragh Peninsula. Parking is a roadside layby, so pull in fully and watch for traffic.
