A family-run campsite of 45 secluded, landscaped pitches set inside Lough Key Forest & Activity Park in Boyle, Co. Roscommon, a five-minute walk from the lake, visitor centre and the park's many trails and attractions.

Rockingham Remembered Tour

Self-guided tour through 19th-century underground tunnels, up the 5-storey Moylurg Tower and along Ireland's first 300m tree canopy walk, 9m above the woodland floor. Adults €10, child/youth (5-17) €5, under-5s free, family ticket €25. Wheelchair and buggy accessible; dogs not permitted.

Walking and cycling trails

About 8km of traffic-free cycle trails suit kids learning to ride, plus walking trails graded from multi-access to strenuous. Free trail maps are downloadable from the park website.

Adventure Play Kingdom

Outdoor climbing, balancing and interactive play for children up to 12, with an all-day pass of €5 per child (€3.50 in groups of 10+).

Boda Borg

Two-storey indoor challenge with 47 quests, no instructions and no clues - pure teamwork and problem-solving for families and groups. Pre-booking essential.

Lakeside café and food trucks

The Lakeside Café in the visitor centre serves toasties, pizza, burgers, soups and baked treats with lake views, and a food truck sells café favourites outdoors. During peak season Lough N' Loaded pizza and coffee truck operates in the campsite itself.

Lake and watersports

A slipway at the main car park lets you launch your own boat; Lough Key Boat Tours, P Macs Kayak excursions and a lakeside sauna operate in the park. Swimming is at your own risk - no lifeguards.

Plan Your Visit

  • Hours: Campsite open March-October; check-in strictly 2pm-9pm, pitches vacated by 12pm on departure. Visitor centre and most activities open 10am-6pm (10am-7pm in July and August); the 350-hectare park estate itself is open all year.
  • Admission: Nightly pitch rates: caravan/campervan €40, trailer-frame tent €40, tents €20-€40 by size; extra car €5, showers €2 payable on site
  • Parking: Park car park is €6 per vehicle, pay-on-exit by coins or contactless; free with €20+ spend in the visitor centre or restaurant, free for EU parking-card holders, and a €50 annual pass is available. Campsite guests park at their pitch (extra car €5).
  • Food: Lakeside Café in the visitor centre (soup, toasties, pizza, burgers, baked treats, barista coffee); outdoor food truck; Lough N' Loaded pizza and coffee truck in the campsite during peak season.
