Things to Do
Maritime heritage and the Steam Packet
Hear Manx mariners' tales of fishing, smuggling and sea captains, and learn about the Island's maritime lifeline, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.
Coffee Station café and gift shop
Housed in part of the old Peel Railway Station building, the Coffee Station serves speciality coffees and teas with soup, paninis, croissants and cake, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the marina. The Heritage Gift Shop stocks Manx gifts and souvenirs.
Meet Manannan and the Kingdom of Man
Your host, the mythological sea god Manannan, leads an atmospheric, immersive tour through two thousand years of life on the Isle of Man, with precious artefacts from a Viking kingdom along the way.
Celtic roundhouse and Viking longhouse
Step inside a life-size Celtic roundhouse to hear the storyteller Egodonas, then stroll through a Viking Age longhouse from Cronk-ny-Merriu and see how the Vikings expressed their beliefs through art.
Odin's Raven longship
Join the crew of Odin's Raven, a two-thirds scale Viking longship returning from the battle of Clontarf, with tales of battles, skulduggery and revenge from the medieval Chronicles of the Kings of Man and the Isles.
Stories in the Stones
A dedicated theatre explores the stories behind the Island's stone crosses, with mist rising through the stones and voices spanning a thousand years.
Plan Your Visit
- Hours: Open daily 9.30am – 4.30pm, last entry 4pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
- Admission: Adults £14, students £7, children free (aged 16 and under)
- Parking: Large free car park to the rear of the building with three designated spaces; two more designated disabled spaces plus a loading bay at the front. Overflow car park further back along Mill Road (uneven, not tarmacked), and additional free street parking around Peel.
- Food: The Coffee Station café, in part of the old Peel Railway Station building, is open daily 9am to 5pm. It serves speciality coffees and teas with light snacks such as soup, paninis, croissants and cake, with indoor and outdoor seating looking over the marina towards Peel Castle.
