A working sheep farm on the Slea Head Drive where you can cuddle and bottle-feed baby lambs, watch a Border Collie work sheep, and walk into 1,400-year-old dry-stone beehive huts — all with the Skelligs and Blasket Islands on the horizon.
The signature experience: cuddle soft lambs in the barn and, if you time it with feeding, take a bottle and help feed them. It is a seasonal, hands-on farm activity and staff are on hand to help with photos; young children must be supervised.
Aedán and his trained Border Collies herd sheep on the hillside, responding to whistle and voice commands, with live commentary and a Q&A afterwards. The demonstration runs about 45 minutes and you can meet the dogs when they have finished.
The farm sits directly on the Wild Atlantic Way beside the Ceann Sléibhe Discovery Point, looking out over the Atlantic towards the Skelligs, the Blasket Islands and the Iveragh Peninsula. A coffee and a look around the old farmhouse are good reasons to linger.
A short walking path leads to dry-stone beehive huts built by corbelling and standing for over a thousand years, with information boards along the way. Ground is uneven and can be muddy, so wear sturdy shoes and stay on the marked paths.
