Tackle two very different mazes. The Celtic Maze is a classic beech hedge maze (replanted in 2022) with a pond at its centre. The Solstice Maze is a contemplative stone-circle labyrinth with four seasonal centre stones, gentler for young children. Both are wheelchair accessible.
Step back in time across three museums. The Barn Museum spans two floors of farming tools, carts, ploughs and photographs from Famine times. The quirky Bottle Museum displays antique Irish bottles and jars, some excavated on-site. The 16th-century Old Farmhouse once sheltered 1798 rebels and is furnished with original wares.
Say hello to Ernie the donkey, retired horses Annie and Jessie James, plus cows, pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, and fancy hens at the 'Hen Hotel'. Join the daily guided animal feeding at 2:30pm (weather permitting, meet at the coffee shop). You might spot lambs, piglets, or chicks in season.
Follow the meandering Ballinanty Brook through rewilded countryside and native woodlands. The Dragonfly Walk takes you along a raised wooden walkway over wetlands with viewing platforms at the ponds — a highlight for wildlife spotting.
Pick up a self-guided treasure hunt map and crack the clues around the farm to earn a real prize — the trail teaches children about the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan. The Fairy Tree Trail weaves through native trees with fairy doors and little houses to discover.
