Woodland Loop
A 3 km, roughly one-hour moderate loop that takes in the whole park and finishes along the shore of Inniscarra Lake. Best for the lake views and the rowers training on the reservoir.

About
A small forest park on the southern shore of Inniscarra Lake, with free woodland trails, a red- and fallow-deer enclosure and one of Munster's biggest zipline courses. Created in the 1950s when farmland was flooded for the Inniscarra hydroelectric station, it's 20 km west of Cork city off the N22.
Things to Do
Enclosure Trail and wildlife
An easy 1.1 km, 25-minute path around the perimeter of the deer enclosure and duck pond, giving clear views of the red and fallow deer and the ducks. The deer carry impressive antlers in the autumn rutting season and are with their young in spring.
Zipit high ropes and ziplines
Zipit's aerial course has 86 activities and over 800 m of ziplines across five or six colour-coded circuits from 1 m to 15 m high. Sessions run up to three hours including a mandatory safety briefing; minimum age 7 and minimum height 1 m.
Playground and picnic site
There's a playground plus picnic benches and a picnic site, so families can stretch a Zipit visit into a full day out.
Permanent orienteering course
A permanent orienteering course runs through the park, with downloadable maps, an answer sheet and school work packs from Coillte.
Mallard Cove spur trail
A short spur trail at the back of the park leads down to Mallard Cove, where you can sometimes see fish jumping.
Woodland ecology display centre
An old shooting lodge beside the wildlife enclosure has been converted into a woodland ecology display centre.
Plan Your Visit
- Hours: Park gates open 08.00–21.00 (April to September) and 08.00–17.30 (October to March). Zipit opens 09:00–18:00 in July and August; hours otherwise depend on season and weather, so book ahead.
- Admission: Entry to the forest park and its walking trails is free; Zipit's high ropes and zipline courses are ticketed (adult from €40, child from €23). Family passes from €29 per person.
- Parking: On-site car park, €5, contactless card only — no cash accepted. Annual passes are still valid.
- Food: A small Zipit cafe/cabin sells hot and cold drinks, crisps and chocolate; you can also bring your own food and use the picnic benches. Nearby options include Wunderkaffee, Mai Fitz's Bar & Restaurant, the Killumney Inn and Cooneys Garage in Coachford.
