Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian railway station on the waterfront, the Cobh Heritage Centre tells the powerful story of Irish emigration — from coffin ships to the Titanic and Lusitania — through the port where over 3 million people departed.
The core self-guided exhibition traces Irish emigration from the 1600s through the 20th century. Powerful audiovisual displays bring to life the hardships of those who left, from convict transports to Australia to steerage passengers bound for North America. Allow about one hour. Audio guides available in seven languages.

The 80-seat café occupies the atmospheric Victorian railway station concourse. It serves hot meals, sandwiches, soups, pastries, and renowned homemade scones, plus a wine licence. Open daily from 10am. Two Kilkenny Group gift shops on site.
The recently upgraded Lusitania exhibition recounts the 1915 torpedo sinking off the Old Head of Kinsale. Cobh launched a rescue flotilla that saved 761 people; survivors were brought here and 160 victims were buried in the Old Church cemetery nearby.
