About

A free, council-run community playground in the heart of Carrigaline, completely rebuilt in 2026 with a zipline, jungle gym, skate park and duck pond all in one park.

Things to Do

Brand-new play equipment ('Pringle Park')

A €300,000 refurbishment completed in July 2026 delivered a jungle gym, zipline, climbing frames, seesaws and slides — nicknamed 'Pringle Park' for the curved yellow toppers on the kit. There is also a tunnel slide, climbing wall and swing set.

Skate park and basketball court

A skate park and a basketball court sit within the same park, so older kids and teens can burn off energy alongside the younger play areas.

Feed the ducks at the pond

A pond beside the playground is home to mallard ducks, a favourite with young visitors. Bring duck-friendly seed or corn.

Picnics and riverside strolls

Picnic benches and shaded trees ring the play area, and an easy walk follows the river through Carrigaline Community Park — an easy way to stretch out a family afternoon.

Plan Your Visit

  • Hours: Open all day, every day (24 hours). An outdoor park — the playground is best used in daylight. The park closed for four weeks from 15 June 2026 for the upgrade works and reopened with the new equipment in July 2026.
  • Admission: Free to use — a public community playground run by Cork County Council with the Carrigaline Playground Committee.
  • Parking: Accessible parking is available at the playground itself (wheelchair-accessible spaces); town-centre parking in Carrigaline is a short walk away.
  • Food: No café confirmed on site. Carrigaline town centre, about 300 m away, has Collins Bar, Ristorante Romano and Four Star Pizza (Trip.com).
