An Táin Arts Centre is Dundalk's home for the arts, packing a 350-seat theatre, a 55-seat studio, the Basement Gallery and artist studios into one town-centre building.
The 350-seat main theatre and 55-seat studio theatre stage touring drama, comedy, music, film and in-house productions, from tribute nights and wrestling to new Irish work. Tickets are sold per event, typically around €18 with a €16 concession plus a €1.50 booking fee.
Changing exhibitions of visual art run Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, with no booking required and no admission charge. Recent shows have featured work by the centre's emerging artist in residence, including Emma Ray's 'Watch Until The End'.
The venue hosts regular films and, each September, the Louth International Film Festival: three days, over 70 films, industry panels and masterclasses, run with the Louth Filmmakers Society and DkIT.
The centre runs two workshop spaces and a busy participation programme: writing workshops, drama and craft sessions, schools screenings and a monthly book club. Check the What's On listings, as most are ticketed separately and many sell out.
Supported by An Táin Arts Centre, this artist-run studio in the heart of Dundalk has housed ten professional visual artists since 2020, working across ceramics, printmaking, photography, textiles and mixed media.
