A state-of-the-art exhibition, built with material from the Kennedy Library in Boston, traces Patrick Kennedy's departure in 1848 and the family's rise through US politics. It mixes memorabilia, photographs, audio-visuals and interactive displays.
The centre is built around President Kennedy's June 1963 visit, when he drank tea with his Irish cousins in this farmyard. Visitors can relive the sounds and scenes of that iconic day, which JFK called 'the best four days of my life'.
An engaging guided tour takes in the original homestead buildings on a farm still worked by Kennedy descendants, plus the courtyard where the President raised a toast. Allow time for the introductory film.
