A family-run Irish gift shop on the Ring of Kerry with a free outdoor Heritage Gallery — 150 slate panels on local history, folklore, wildlife and the Skelligs.
Browse a large, well-stocked shop of Aran sweaters, merino wool cardigans, blankets, shawls, flat caps, jewellery and gifts. Everything sold is 100% made in Ireland, from brands such as Aran Woollen Mills, Foxford and McNutt of Donegal.
A free outdoor gallery with 150 information panels on Valentia Island slate and over 300 photo exhibits covering stone forts and circles, geology, birds, farm life, the transatlantic cable stations, Kerry's Dark Sky Reserve and the Skelligs. Picnic benches offer views over Waterville and Ballinskelligs Bay.
Two audio-visual screens inside the store show local history footage, a good warm-up (or shelter from the rain) before the outdoor gallery.
The shop began in 1960 as the Waterville Craft Market, opened by Noreen and Alf Foster, and is still family-run, with a strong focus on Kerry craft suppliers.
