A free, year-round parkland on the shore of Galway Bay where woodland walks, a 16th-century castle ruin, playground and outdoor gym sit five minutes from Oranmore.
A network of trails runs through sheltered woodland, open farmland and along the bay shore, including a Slí na Sláinte walking route. Paths are tarmacadamed, making them easy for buggies and wheelchairs, with benches along the way. Continue to Rinville Point and Saleen Point for views over Galway Bay, Galway City and the Burren in Clare.
The park centres on built heritage: a tower house first recorded in 1574 under the Burke family, plus the ruins of Rinville Hall, a late Georgian house destroyed by fire in 1976. The old gate lodge stands at the upper car-park entrance.
