Walk the two beaches
Renvyle is really two beaches split by a small hillock, so you can stroll from one to the other. Expect bright white sand, rocky inlets and open views of the Twelve Bens and Mweelrea across the water.

About
A long white-sand bay on the northwest edge of the Renvyle Peninsula, backed by Mweelrea and the Twelve Bens and facing a scatter of Atlantic islands. Quiet, natural and free to visit.
Things to Do
Paddle or swim in the bay
The beach holds a Green Coast Award and the water stays fairly shallow, which suits paddling, a dip, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding. There are no lifeguards on duty, so swim with care.
Catch the sunset and the islands
Look west at dusk as the sun drops into the Atlantic. Inishturk, Clare Island, Crump Island and tiny Shanvallybag lie offshore, with Mweelrea, Connacht's highest mountain, rising beyond.
Explore the rock pools
The bay is dotted with rocky sections, and a close look at the rock pools turns up plenty of marine life.
Camp behind the dunes
Renvyle Beach Caravan & Camping Park sits right beside the sand, with toilets and showers, a campers' kitchen, laundry and a 7kW EV charger for guests.
Pair it with nearby sights
Lettergesh and Glassilaun beaches are about five minutes away, while Kylemore Abbey and the Diamond Hill trail are roughly ten minutes' drive.
Plan Your Visit
- Parking: A small car park sits right at the edge of the beach, with room for around a dozen cars; it fills quickly on sunny days.
- Food: Nothing on site. Pubs and restaurants are a short drive away in Tullycross, including Anglers Rest Bar and Paddy Coynes Pub, plus the Rusheenduff Restaurant at Renvyle House hotel.
