The lake draws mallard, teal, moorhen, coot and swans, while the beech and oak woods hold song thrush, robin, wren and warblers. Binoculars and a camera are well rewarded.

A gentle, safe spot for children to feed the ducks and swans and for a lakeside picnic. Dogs are welcome, but keep them under control as livestock may graze in nearby fields.
