The monks celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours in the Abbey Church seven times a day, and all visitors are welcome to take part, with no obligation to do so. The times of prayer are posted in each guest bedroom.

Things to Do
Attend Mass or confession
Community Mass is at 8.15am Monday to Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday, with a public Sunday Mass at 12.30pm. Confessions are heard in the Abbey Church on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 2.30-4.00pm.
Walk the grounds
The guesthouse sits in the monastery grounds, which have fine walks and a peaceful landscape where visitors take time and space to reflect.
Stay in the guesthouse
The original Heaton family mansion has served as the guesthouse since the monastery's early days and is open to resident guests all year round, with en-suite bedrooms and an elevator to each floor.

Founded in 1878, Mount Saint Joseph is a monastery of the Cistercians of Strict Observance, and its Cistercian College (1905) is the only fully fledged secondary school in the world established by, and still connected with, the Trappist monks.

- Hours: The Abbey Church is open to visitors, with the Liturgy of the Hours sung seven times a day, community Mass at 8.15am Monday to Saturday and 10.30am Sunday, and Sunday public Mass at 12.30pm. The guesthouse welcomes resident guests all year round.
