About

One of Europe's major show caves, discovered by accident in 1833 — a raw, family-run underground world of colossal caverns and ancient calcite formations beneath the Galtee Mountains.

Things to Do

Guided Cave Tour

The only way in is with a guide. You'll descend 88 steep steps and walk roughly 1km through three massive caverns, the largest being Tír na Nóg (61m × 49m, 18m high). The star is the Tower of Babel, a 9-metre calcite column — one of Europe's finest. Tours last 45–60 minutes at a constant 12°C, so bring a jacket. Photography is not permitted inside.

Soak Up the Views & Picnic

There's no café or shop — just picnic tables with sweeping views of the Galtee Mountains. Bring your own food and enjoy the panorama before or after your tour.

Catch an Underground Event

The largest cavern doubles as a natural auditorium with superb acoustics. The cave has hosted concerts, film screenings, and even a pop-up Michelin-star restaurant. Events are sporadic — check the website or Facebook page.
