About

A fifth-generation working mountain sheep farm on the Ring of Kerry where you can watch skilled border collies round up flocks against the stunning backdrop of Moll's Gap.

Things to Do

Sheep Dog Demonstration

The headline experience: watch John Kissane and his border collies expertly gather and herd sheep across the farm's mountainous terrain. Demonstrations run on a published schedule — no two are quite the same, and the dogs' skill is remarkable.

Sheep Shearing Demo

During the summer months (roughly June to September), you can see traditional sheep shearing and even have a go yourself while John holds the sheep for you.

Meet the Lambs

In springtime, hundreds of lambs are born on the farm. Visitors can cuddle and help bottle-feed the orphan pet lambs — a firm favourite with children.

Adopt a Sheep

If you fall for the flock, you can adopt one of the farm's mountain sheep and help preserve this Irish hill-farming heritage.

Mountain Walks

Three marked walks cross the farm with spectacular views of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks and the Black Valley. There's also a Puzzle Walk and Treasure Trail for families.

Avoca at Moll's Gap

The Avoca Shop & Café sits right in the centre of the farm at Moll's Gap. Stop for coffee, lunch, or browse Irish crafts and food products between demonstrations.
