Browse the Factory Shop
One of the largest toy soldier ranges in the world, with figures sold nowhere else, plus wooden knight gear and Papo figurines for younger visitors.
Watch real metal casting
This is a genuine factory, not a display: staff vulcanise moulds and spin-cast tin soldiers in authentic metal much as it has been done since the 17th century.
Chess sets and Irish Heroes
The pewter chess set range is the largest in the world. A 13-figure Irish Heroes collection features Gráinne O'Malley and Michael Collins, alongside licensed Mithril Lord of the Rings miniatures.
Birthday parties and school tours
Parties for ages 8+ book 4–12 children from €12 each and include free use of the canteen for cake. School tours from €8 per pupil cover mould-making and casting.
Tea, coffee and snacks
Tea, coffee and a selection of snacks are served on site; online workshop bookings come with free popcorn, and groups of 12+ can arrange freshly baked scones.
Plan Your Visit
- Hours: Workshops run Monday to Friday, first session 10:00, last 16:00. Saturdays normally open but closed through September, resuming in October. Closed Sundays.
- Admission: Admission to the visitor centre and shop is free; make-and-paint workshops start at €12 per person.
- Parking: Free car park at the factory, including wheelchair-accessible parking spaces.
- Food: Tea, coffee and snacks are served on site; free popcorn for online workshop bookings and scones for groups of 12+. Kilnamartyra has 2 pubs, and Macroom (12 min) offers restaurants and cafés such as Granvilles, the Auld Triangle, Castle Hotel and the Halfway Chipper (Fri–Sun).
