Alongside the play area the park has tennis and basketball courts, table tennis tables, a cycle lane and an all-weather football pitch, so older children have plenty to do. Bring a ball.
A solar-powered BoxUp locker unit lets visitors borrow sports and leisure equipment free of charge through a smartphone app, introduced by Mayo Sports Partnership and Mayo County Council.
Located adjoining Tom Ruane Park, this community-led sensory space offers a calm, inclusive environment designed especially for neurodivergent children and visitors of all abilities, with interactive and musical equipment and quiet areas to relax in. Phase one opened in summer 2026.
The park overlooks the River Moy and has a large green area with picnic benches — pack a picnic, watch the ducks and let the children run. Ballina town centre is roughly a ten-minute walk away.
