Things to Do
Teach an Phiarsaigh (Pearse's Cottage)
Visit the cottage where Patrick Pearse — writer, educator and leader of the 1916 Rising — spent his summers, and follow the story of his historical and cultural legacy.
Bog looped walk
A scenic looped walk crosses the Connemara bog from the visitor centre out to Pearse's cottage, taking in the landscape that surrounded his summers here.
Audiovisual presentation
An audiovisual presentation sets out the story of Pearse and this part of the Connemara Gaeltacht before you head out to the cottage.
Café and shop
The on-site café serves home baking and dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, and a small retail shop sells local items.

- Hours: Open every day. Mid March to end of October 9.45am–6.00pm; November to mid March 9.45am–4.00pm. Last admission 45 minutes before closing.
- Admission: Adults €5.00, group/senior €4.00, child/student €3.00, family €13.00; free for children under 12
- Parking: Car and coach parking on site.
- Food: Café serving home baking and locally sourced ingredients.
