Things to Do
Walk out to Dunabrattin Head
A short cliff path reaches the headland, whose promontory fort sits at the tip. The rocks off the head are among County Waterford's best sea-fishing marks, attracting mackerel to the warmer water.
Boatstrand Harbour and Kilmurrin Cove
Minutes west is tiny Boatstrand, a 19th-century fishing harbour with its own elevated viewpoint and a sheltered slipway loved by sea swimmers; Kilmurrin Cove, a horseshoe beach with a blowhole, is just beyond.
Continue the Copper Coast Drive
The viewpoint is one stop on the 25km geopark drive between Tramore and Dungarvan. Close by are the Tankardstown mine engine houses and the Geopark Visitor Centre at Bunmahon.
Catch the light
Photographers rate the spot at sunrise and sunset, when low light picks out the rock layers; bring a camera and watch for seabirds and the weather rolling in.
